Olweus Bullying Prevention Program

posted Feb 7, 2017, 9:29 AM by Jeana Black   [ updated Mar 15, 2020, 7:01 PM by Terri CORBETT ]

As a district, all elementary schools have implemented a Bullying Prevention Program that focuses on being kind and standing up when they see others making inappropriate choices. Teachers hold weekly meetings in their classes to discuss the kindness expectations as well as other discussion topics that build community within their classrooms. Please encourage your child to be kind and to stand up for what's right when they see others not being treated respectfully.

READ TO SUCCEED Info & Retention Policy Documents

Winter MAP Testing is complete and we have updated information on our students' academic progress since Fall.  Students who fall within the 25th percentile or lower on this nationally normed assessment may be an indicator that your child has some significant weaknesses in an academic area. We want to keep an eye on these students and provide additional assistance to help them master their appropriate grade level standards.

If your student is in the third grade, MAP Test can be an indicator of how they will perform on SCREADY. Your teacher should hold a conference with you each nine-weeks to update their progress and make suggestions for how to assist at home. Please make sure you are staying in contact with your teacher and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Corbett as well. (864) 718 - 4509. Thank you!

Our teachers and students are challenged with meeting the South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards for each grade level. Meeting these standards indicates that a student is on grade level. As a parent, you are a partner in your child's education. Please use the link below to explore the standards for your child(ren)'s grade level.  Feel free to contact your administrative team or their teacher if you have questions about the standards.
Click here to go to the page on the SC Department of Education website to view our state standards.
