Summer Reading 2019

Parents - Encourage Your Child to Participate in the County Library Summer Reading Program!
The kick off starts on the last day of school at High Falls Park! Summer Reading can truly make a difference in your child being ready for the next grade level.

2019 - 2020 Northside Elementary Kindergarten Through Fifth Grade Supply Lists

Kindergarten:

·         Backpack without wheels

·         4 glue sticks

·         4 dry erase markers

·         1 inch 3 ring binder

·         1 single subject spiral notebook

·         1 box of pencils (no designs please)

·         1 pencil box marked with your child’s name. (Hard plastic: 8” x 5” x 2”)

·         1 box of 24 count crayons

·         1 pair of scissors (Fiskars work best)


 1st Grade

1 black marbled composition notebook
1 blue marbled composition notebook
1 red marbled composition notebook
1 pair of scissors (Fiskars work best)
2 large pink erasers (Please do not send pencil cap erasers)
1 box of crayons (24 count)
1 pack of washable markers
2 packs of 24 pencils
4 glue sticks
1 black dry erase marker 

Please Do Not put your child’s name on their items or send pencil boxes. Many of the items will be community items and will be stored on tables. 


 2nd Grade:

·         24 Dixon pencils (8 count on sale – 3 packs)

·         1 pack of colored pencils (24 count)

·         1 pack of Crayola crayons

·         1 pack of glue sticks (4 count)

·         6 composition notebooks (wide-ruled)

·         2 packs of Princess Pink Erasers (4 count) – no pencil top erasers please

·         3 plastic pocket folders WITH prongs


  3rd Grade:

·         1 pack of dry erase markers (4 count)

·         24 Dixon pencils (8 count on sale – 3 packs)

·         2 packs of notebook paper (Wide-ruled / 150 sheets)

·         3 composition books (black and white speckled)

·         1 small hand-held pencil sharpener (enclosed to catch shavings)

·         1 pencil zipper pouch (No boxes please)

·         1 box of colored pencils (12 count)

·         1 pair scissors

·         3 folders with pockets and prongs

·         NO ROLLING BOOK BAGS PLEASE

  

4th Grade

·           1 pack of dry erase markers

·           1 pack of wide-ruled notebook paper

·           1 zippered pencil pouch – NO Boxes please

·           2 boxes of pencils (24 count)

·           1 pack of glue sticks

·           1 ½ inch 3 ring binder

·           Dividers (1 pack of 8)

·           Highlighters 

·           5 composition notebooks

·           Colored pencils 

·           Scissors

·           No Rolling book bags

      

 5th Grade:

·         2-inch binder

·         1 set of dividers

·         2 composition notebooks

·         Highlighters

·         Scissors

·         1 pack of colored pencils

·         2 packs of wide-ruled notebook paper

·         Glue sticks or tape

·         3 packs of pencils (Crazy Art has a pack of 20 for inexpensive price)                                        


2019-2020 Back to School Night at Northside

South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards for All Grades

Our teachers and students are challenged with meeting the South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards for each grade level. Meeting these standards indicates that a student is on grade level. As a parent, you are a partner in your child's education. Please use the link below to explore the standards for your child(ren)'s grade level.  Feel free to contact your administrative team or their teacher if you have questions about the standards.

School Holidays for 2018 - 2019

Students will have the following days as school HOLIDAYS this Year: 
  • Sept. 3rd - Labor Day Holiday
  • October 23rd - Teacher In-Service - No school for students
  • November 5th - Teacher In-Service - No school for students
  • November 6th - Election Day
  • November 21 - 23 - Thanksgiving Break
  • December 21 - Jan. 2 - Christmas Break
  •  January 21st - Martin Luther King Day
  •  February 15th - Teacher In-Service Day - No school for students
  • April 15th - 19th - Spring Break
  • May 27th - Memorial Day
