Northside Elementary will host our school Battle of the Books competition on January 16th at 1:00 PM. Students will work in teams to respond to questions by identifying which book a question represents. The winning team will advance to the district Battle of the Books Competition being held on February 2, 2019. Please encourage participating students to keep reading and reviewing this year's selected books. We wish to thank the teachers and parents who have worked with these students and supported them to be ready for these competitions.

MAP Testing Complete - Communicate with Teachers to receive additional information about your child's results.

Kindergarten through 5th grade students participated in MAP testing during the month of December. They took reading and math assessments. These tests can provide information to teachers about your child's strengths and weaknesses. This nationally normed test provides a percentile rank for your child compared to other students nationally as well as the RIT score provides a grade equivalent level depending on their performance. (Charts are included below.) Teachers can use this information along with the State Standards to guide your child's instruction. Reports will be sent home the week of January 7th in their communication folder.
